After winning both races in the opening round of Losail MX Championship last weekend at Losail MX track, Kuwaiti rider Mohamed Jaffar continues  to remain unstoppable and won the third round of Qatar International Enduro at Sealine yesterday.

With a total participation of 31 riders in this round, the Red Bull KTM rider showed a great performance in all the sessions, winning both races after a fierce battle with South African Le Roy Botha, who rides a Honda bike for Abu Issa Racing.

For this round, a part from the categories of E1, E2 and Quads, a new category was implemented for the Veterans.

In the first race of the day, Jaffar had an easy win and led the race from the second lap onwards, when he overtook Le Roy, till the end.  Jaffar won the race with a gap of 42.457 seconds ahead of Le Roy.

Regarding categories, the podium of E1 category was fully composed by Kuwaiti riders—Jaffar in first place,  followed by al-Shatti and Barak al-Jasmi third.

In the E2 category, the winner was Le Roy Botha, with Meshari Abou Shaiba from Kuwait coming second, followed by Mathew Gilpin from South Africa.

Qatari rider Mohamed Abu Issa was the winner in the Quad category.

“It was a great race for us, it was my fist Enduro over a year maybe. I am very happy to be first and my teammate came second, so it is a great result for us,” Abu Issa said. 

Anthony Benon from France and Kuwaiti Fahad al-Musallam finished in second and third position in the Quads.

In the new Veterans category, the first position went to Glenn Allan from Australia.

In the second race of the round,  Jaffar didn’t had a good start as he got stuck at the beginning. Later on, he had two crashes so he had to ride to his limit to get the lead and victory, who finally got it in a dramatic last lap with Le Roy, who finished the race again in first place in the E2 category.

In the E1 podium of race 2, together with Mohamed Jaffar, were present Abdullah al-Shatti and Hassan Nooraldin in second and third place respectively. Le Roy Botha stepped again in the first position in the E2 podium with Meshari Abou Shaiba in second place and Moaath al-Ansari in third.

The victory in the Quads was again for Qatari rider Mohamed Abu Issa. In the second race, the winner of the Veteran category was French rider Patrick Roux.

Jaffar currently leads E1 category with 147 points with Abdullah al-Shatti second with 117 points.

Moath al-Ansari from Kuwait leads the E2 category with 116 points. In the Quads, Fahad al-Musallam with 92 points tops his category.

The trophies were presented by Sultan Zaher al-Morraikhi (QMMF Board member), Essa al-Awadi (FIM Asia vice-president) and Iain Black (Clerk of  the Course).
