Al Feroz Youngsters’ Boota receives the Man of the Match award from the officials.

Elite Force Choudhary and Al Feroz will vie for the winner’s cheque of QR50,000 in the West End Park Ramadan Tournament final after both teams inflicted six-wicket losses on their semi-final opponents.

The tournament is being organized under the patronage of Qatar Olympic Committee secretary general HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani.

In the first semifinal, Doha CC won the toss and elected to bat first posting 135 for 9 on board. Even has H Tanveer (44) and Khurram (37) tried pushing up the final total, Elite Force bowlers Bilawal and Khalid scalped three wickets each.

Salman Butt led Elite Force’s chase scoring an impressive 62 not out. The eventual winners overhauled the target with an over to spare. Doha CC’s Qamar claimed two wickets while Nabeel scalped one.

Butt was adjudged Man of the Match.

In the second semifinal, Wings Doha CC won the toss and elected to bat first, hitting 145 for 6. Zaid Ustad (54) and Sri Lanka International Dilhara Lokuhettige (28) did the bulk of the scoring. Naveed (2 wickets) and Inam (1 wicket) were among the wicket takers for Al Feroz.

In reply, Boota scored 64 and Inam pitched in with 44 as Al Feroz reached 148 for 4 with four overs to spare. For Wings Doha, Arvind took two wickets, while Lokuhettige took 1 wicket.

Boota was presented the Man of the Match award.

Tonight’s Final will see Elite Force Choudhary vs. Al Feroz Youngsters CC (8:30pm).

While the winners of the tournament stand to win QR50,000, the runners-up will take home QR25,000.
