Eid receptions
HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani received well-wishers on the occasion of Eid al-Adha at Al Wajbah palace yesterday. The Emir first received sheikhs, ministers, the speaker and deputy speaker of the Advisory Council, undersecretaries, members of the Advisory Council and citizens. They were followed by heads of diplomatic missions, officers of the armed forces and police, and directors of departments and national institutions. The Eid receptions were attended by HH the Special Adviser to the Emir, Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani. The Emir also received at Al Wajbah Palace children from Qatar Orphan Foundation (Dhreima). More well-wishers, including sheikhs and citizens, were received by the Emir later yesterday. The reception was attended by a number of the Emir’s sons.


HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani performed Eid al-Adha prayers yesterday morning at Al Wajbah prayer grounds.
HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al Thani, special adviser to the Emir, and a number of sheikhs, ministers and nationals joined the prayer.
Sheikh Dr Thaqeel Sayyer al-Shammari , judge at the Court of Cassation and  member of the Supreme Judicial Council, delivered the Eid sermon in which he called on Muslims to fear Allah and make use of the holy  occasion, . 
He urged all Muslims to maintain ties of kinship and adhere to the “principles of our Islamic religion and its teachings of tolerance and follow the Sunnah of our Prophet”.
Thousands attended Eid al-Adha prayers in mosques and prayer grounds across the country.
