Emirates airline will operate one more flight to and from Doha from December 1.The Dubai-based airline will have 35 weekly services to Doha, connecting the city five times a day. The additional flight will be serviced by an Airbus A330, the airline said. The additional flight will be on Saturday. EK849 is scheduled to depart Dubai at 5.05pm and reach Doha at 5.05pm (Doha time). The return flight EK850 departs Doha at 6.05pm and reaches Dubai at 8.05pm (local time). Saeed Khalifa bin Sulaiman, Emirates manager (Qatar), said: “Qatar is an important market for the airline. We are pleased to be able to offer an additional service on this perpetually busy route. Despite the global economic downturn Qatar continues to see positive growth, particularly in aviation. Now servicing the country five times a day, the airline is well placed to capitalise on this growth.” The flights between Doha and Dubai are well timed for travellers to connect to more than 100 destinations that it serves. In particular travellers from Doha can easily connect to numerous destinations across Far East, Australia and Europe with minimal transit time. The addition of these flights is the fourth significant capacity enhancement to Middle East services this year – in July the airline added an additional 12 flights to Kuwait, Damascus, Sana’a, Amman and Doha. Cargo will also receive an impetus with the increased service delivering an additional 15 tonnes of capacity per week, carrying a variety of goods such as exhibition goods, oil field equipment and medical equipment. The existing service of 197 flights per week to 14 Middle Eastern gateways will now be strengthened to 201. Further expanding its services globally, the news comes on the back of airline’s recent expansion across Asia Pacific, with an additional 17 flights due to be added across the region in December and January. |
