HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani issued yesterday the Emiri decision No. 83 of 2009 re-establishing the Higher Committee for Co-ordination and Follow-up under the chairmanship of HH the Emir, and HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani as Deputy Chairman and the membership of:
1-Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs as Executive member
2 -Minister of Economy and Finance
3 -Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning
4-Minister of Environment
5 -Special Adviser to HH the Heir Apparent
6 -Chairman of the Public Works Authority
Executive committee members
HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday issued the decision of the Higher Committee for Co-ordination and Follow-up re-establishing the Executive Committee.
The decision stipulates that the Committee will be re-established as follows:
1-Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs as Chairman
2-Minister of Economy and Finance as Vice-Chairman
3-Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning
4 -Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs
5 -Minister of Environment
6 -Chairman of the Public Works Authority
7 -Chairman of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation.
Decision on rent dispute panel ratified
HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani has ratified cabinet decision No 42 of 2009 amending some provisions of decision No 36 of 2008 forming committees for tenancy disputes arbitration as follows:
First committee: 1.Nabil Mihdar al-Sa’adi - Chairman.
2. Nouf Abdurrahman Abdullah al-Maliki - Member.
3. Nabil Mohamed Ahmed Badr - Member.
Second committee: 1. Khalid Mohamed al Shraim - Chairman.

Instruments of ratification issued
HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday issued the following instruments of ratification:
1. Approving the GCC Monetary Union Agreement, signed in Muscat on 30/10/2008.
2. Approving a draft agreement between the governments of Qatar and the Principality of Monaco on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion on income taxes, signed in Doha on 16/9/2009.
3. Approving a draft agreement between the governments of Qatar and Serbia concerning income taxes, signed in Belgrade on 2/10/2009.
Emir issues three decrees
HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday issued the following decrees:
1. Decree No. 48 of 2009 ratifying the agreement between the governments of Qatar and El Salvador on exempting diplomatic passport holders from the requirements of entry into the two countries.
2. Decree No. 47 of 2009 ratifying an agreement between the governments of Qatar and Cuba on providing medical services signed in April 22 of 2008.
3. Decree No. 49 of 2009 stipulating that the government of Qatar guarantees the financial obligations arising from the financing contracts, concluded by Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, and their consequent costs within the limit of $1.5bn.
The decree stipulated that the Minister of Economy and Finance or his mandated are to be authorised to sign the documents for providing the above-mentioned guarantee and its implementation.
Emiri decisions issued
HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday issued the following decisions:
1. No. 82 of 2009 amending some provisions of the Emiri decision No. 37 of 2001 establishing the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment.
2. No. 84 of 2009 appointing Hamad bin Jaber al-Hanzab as Qatar’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
3. No. 85 of 2009 appointing Sayyar Abderhaman Jassim al-Mawada as Qatar’s Ambassador to Pakistan.
Deputy PM holds talks in Japan
HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah yesterday met the President of Marubeni Group in Japan Teruo Asada, Chief Executive Officer of Shyodu Company Takashi Kubota, and executive vice-president of Sumitomo Chemical Osamu Ishitobi. Bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them were discussed.
