The World Travel Awards’ ‘World’s Leading Airline – Business Class’ honour has been presented to Qatar Airways for the second year running. Thousand of professionals from over 180,000 travel agencies, transport companies and tourism organisations in over 160 countries worldwide voted for the award winners, who were recently recognised at a ceremony in London. “With recognition for all elements of Qatar Airways’ service – from the airline’s exclusive Premium Terminal in Doha for First and Business Class passengers to its rated cabin crew and in-flight entertainment – Qatar Airways has again exceeded passengers’ expectations,” a spokesperson said. Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar al-Baker expressed his delight: “To be named as having again the best business class in the world at the biggest travel event of the year ... proves that Qatar Airways is seen by the industry as the preferred airline for corporate travellers.” “We are proud of our business class product and this title demonstrates the high level of trust that the airline has gained,” he said. “This award is recognition that Qatar Airways continues to lead in a competitive aviation industry by offering the most innovative premium services to our customers,” al-Baker said, adding: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Qatar Airways for making the airline the success it is today.” Qatar Airways is set to launch its first flights to Australia next month as it begins its thrice-weekly service to Melbourne on December 6, before launching a daily service in January with plans to fly to Sydney in the New Year. |
