QTA to take part in London travel show

The Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) will participate in the 30th annual World Travel Market (WTM), beginning in London tomorrow.
The Authority is sending an important delegation from the Qatar tourism and hospitality industries for the four-day event.
“For Qatar, the WTM is one of the best platforms for developing relationships in the international travel trade,” QTA chairman
Ahmed al-Nuaimi said.
The event is also ideal for telling the world about Qatar’s role as a bridge between tradition and innovation and as a premier destination for business, sports and education tourism, complimented by upscale leisure.
“As a market, the United Kingdom is very important to Qatar,” al-Nuaimi said while pointing out that Qatar and the UK share a special relationship.
The two countries are partners in energy, in investment as
well as in tourism, he said.
Around 40,000 British tourists visit Qatar every year and nearly 11,000 British nationals live in Qatar. Sports are also a common passion shared between the two countries.
