Don’t jump to conclusions on motives behind shootings, says Obama |
US President Barack Obama has urged Americans not to jump to conclusions on the motive behind the mass shooting at the sprawling Fort Hood army base in Texas.
“We don’t know all the answers yet and I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts,” he said.
Obama also said he had met officials including FBI Director Robert Mueller on the incident.
The US president also ordered the flags of all federal government buildings to be flown at half-mast yesterday in remembrance of the victims.
“This is a modest tribute to those who lost their lives even as many were preparing to risk their lives for their country,” Obama said. |
