High-level talks
HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani receiving Gambian Foreign Minister Osman Jammeh yesterday. The Gambian foreign minister conveyed a verbal message from Gambian President Yahya Jammeh pertaining to aspects of bilateral relations and issues of common concern.

PM meets British parliamentarian
HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani holding talks with William Hague, member of the British House of Commons and minister for foreign affairs of the shadow government in the British Parliament and his accompanying delegation who are currently visiting Qatar. Talks during the meeting dealt with aspects of co-operation and issues of common concern. Separately, HE the Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah yesterday met William Hague. Talks dealt with boosting co-operation between Qatar and the United Kingdom in the energy and industry sectors as well as other issues of common concern.

Emir meets Chubu power company chief
HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani received at his Emiri Diwan office yesterday Fumio Kawaguchi, the board chairman of Chubu Electric Power Company, who is also head of the Qatari-Japanese friendship society, and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting was attended, among others, by HE Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah, the Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry, HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Saud al-Thani, the Chief of the Emiri Diwan and HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, director of the office of the Emir. Separately, HE the Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah conferred with Fumio Kawaguchi and his accompanying delegation.

PM holds talks with Croatian foreign minister
HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani, yesterday received Croatian Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandrokovie and his accompanying delegation. Talks dealt with aspects of co-operation between the two countries and means of boosting them.  
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry and Croatia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration yesterday signed two protocols of co-operation.

Qatar condoles Egypt train crash victims
HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani has sent a cable to the Egyptian President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak condoling the victims of passenger train collision in Cairo.

Qatar greets Tunisian leader on poll victory
HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani have sent congratulatory cables to Tunisian President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali on his re-election to a fifth new term.

Ambassador of Uruguay calls on Heir Apparent
HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani received at his Emiri Diwan office yesterday Ambassador of Uruguay to Qatar Jose Luis Remedi who called on the Heir Apparent on the occasion of assuming his duty. The Heir Apparent wished Uruguay’s ambassador success in his assignments.
