Morocco: Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club General Supervisor Sheikh Mohamed bin Faleh al-Thani, visited the Qatar Pavilion in the Salon du Cheval, in Al Jadida, Morocco, which will be opened by HM King Mohammed VI of Morocco today. Shiekh Mohammed was very keen to, personally, follow up all details related to the preparation of the QREC Pavilion in the Salon and to make sure that all necessary preparations have been fulfilled to produce a first-class pavilion representing the State of Qatar, particularly as HM the King of Morocco will visit the pavilion. “The participation of the QREC in the second edition of the Salon du Cheval in Al Jadida comes in the context of highlighting the achievements of the Qatari equestrian sport and its continued development and progress thanks to the immense support received from HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, and the continued follow up and directions of HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Special Adviser to the Emir, in order to further develop this sport,” Sheikh Mohamed said. “The Qatari equestrian sport, as a result, has secured for itself a prominent position on the world scene and has become a symbol and an example followed on the regional and international levels. In fact, QREC receives many invitations to participate in such events, particularly as the Qatari participation represents a key factor for the success of such events”. “The Salon du Cheval in Al Jadida is one of the most prestigious exhibitions worldwide. Invitations for participation in the Salon are addressed to organizations with remarkable achievements and of course QREC is one of such organizations particularly with its development and expansion in the recent years”, Sheikh Mohammed explained. Sheikh Mohamed was satisfied with the preparations for the Qatari participation in the Salon du Cheval. This participation includes the Qatari Pavilion which is equipped with various media means such as brochures, photos, paints and screens highlighting REC and its achievements as well as the heritage of Qatar. In addition, the pavilion will provide an opportunity for interaction with the visitors through the QREC team. The opening ceremony of the Salon du Cheval will include a horse parade highlighting the Qatari equestrian heritage and the traditional uniform of Qatari riders; a thobe, (white dress), a ghotra (white head dress) and a chest belt with every rider carrying the flag of Qatar. This parade is supervised by Abdulrahman al-Naama, Head of QREC Riding and Training Section. It will be performed throughout the days of the Salon du Cheval as well. - Agencies |
