Emir names envoys to Egypt and Poland

HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday issued two Emiri decisions appointing Saleh Abdullah Saleh al-Buainain as ambassador to Egypt, and Hadi Nasser Mansour al-Hajeri as ambassador to Poland.

PM appoints Qatari Diar board

HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani has issued a decision forming the Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company’s board, and naming members of the executive committee.

The decision provided for forming a new board of directors under the chairmanship of HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, HE Yousef Hussein Kamal as Deputy Board Chairman,

HE Sheikh Abdurrahman bin Khalifa al-Thani - member,

HE Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah - member,

Ghanem bin Saad al-Saad - board member and managing director.

Ali Abdullah al-Abdullah - member,

Mansour Ibrahim al- Mahmoud - member.

The decision also provided for formation of the executive committee with HE Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, Ghanem bin Saad al-Saad and Mansour Ibrahim al-Mahmoud as members.

PM meets Eritrean ambassador

HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani yesterday received Eritrean Ambassador to Qatar Ali Ibrahim Ahmed. Bilateral relations were reviewed during the meeting. The meeting was attended, among others, by HE Director of the Premier and Foreign Minister’s Office Abdullah bin Eid al-Sulaiti.

Minister holds talks with Lankan leader

HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud yesterday met Sri Lanka’s President Mahinda Rajapakse on the sidelines of the Asia Co-operation Dialogue Ministerial Meeting, currently in session in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo. During the meeting, the minister conveyed HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani’s greetings to the Sri Lankan president. President Rajapakse reciprocated the Emir’s greetings  wishing him the best of health and the Qatari people further progress and prosperity. 

The minister took part in the opening of the Asia Co-operation Dialogue Ministerial Meeting which was opened by the Sri Lankan president yesterday. On Wednesday Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud met Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama.

Talks during the meeting covered bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them.
