Islamic scholar Sheikh Yousuf al-Qaradawi has called on the Muslim world to stage peaceful marches on Friday to protest against the Israeli excavation under the Al Aqsa Mosque and the Jewish state’s action against worshippers at the mosque this week. Sheikh Qaradawi, chairman of the International Union for Muslim scholars, will be giving this week’s Friday sermon at the Omar bin al-Khattab mosque at South Khalifa town. “The Friday sermon will be followed by speeches by some Qatari scholars,” a statement issued by the scholar’s office said. The scholar urged preachers to raise the issue during their Friday sermon and make this Friday a “day of anger” against the Israeli action denying the worshippers access to the Al Aqsa mosque as well as the ongoing excavation under it. |
