Emir hosts banquet for Arab leaders

HH the Emir on Thursday hosted last night at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York City a dinner banquet in honour of heads of the Arab countries’ delegations participating in the 64th session of the UN General Assembly meetings

HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani hosted a dinner banquet in honour of heads of the Arab countries’ delegations participating in the 64th session of the UN General Assembly meetings in New York on Thursday night.
The dinner banquet, held at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York City, was attended by Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, President of the Union of Comoros Ahmed Abdullah Sambi, Lebanese President General Michel Suleiman, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Transitional Federal Government of the Somali Republic Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser al-Mohamed al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.
It was also attended by a number of the heads of Arab delegations, Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa and GCC Secretary-General HE Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Attiyah.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani and the members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir also attended the banquet. 
Also on Thursday the Emir received at the Seat of Qatar’s Permanent Mission to UN  Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, President Boris Tadic of Serbia, President Demetris Christofias of Cyprus, and President George Ivanov of Macedonia. The Emir also received Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser al-Mohamed al-Ahmed al-Sabah, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Sir Louis Starker.
Discussions during the meetings dealt with bilateral co-operation and a number of issues of common interest.
Later the Emir, HH Sheikha Mozah Nasser al-Misnad and the official delegation accompanying the Emir left New York on Thursday night. - QNA
