Doha: HH the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday received at Al Bahr Palace the visiting US Assistant Secretary of Defence for International Security Affairs Alexander R Vershbow and the accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, they reviewed relations between the United States and Qatar beisdes issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by HE the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Major General Hamad bin Ali al-Attiyah, HE the Director of HH the Heir Apparent’s Office Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, General Co-ordinator of the Armed Forces General Pilot Abdullah Jumman al-Hamad and US Ambassador to Qatar Joseph Lebaron.
Separately, HE the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Hamad bin Ali al-Attiyah yesterday met Assistant Secretary of Defence for International Security Affairs in the US Alexander Vershbow and his accompanying delegation.
Talks during the meeting covered aspects of co-operation between the two countries and ways of boosting them in all domains. A number of top Qatari Armed Forces officers attended the meeting. - QNA
