By Bonnie James Azhar Khan of Ideal Indian School and Sweeny D’Souza of MES Indian School are the Qatar toppers in the Science and Commerce streams, respectively, of the All India Senior School Certificate Examinations held in March. Apart from Ideal and MES, students of DPS-Modern Indian School also sat the Class XII examinations, conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The results were announced yesterday. Azhar Khan secured 95.8% marks in the Science stream and Sweeny scored 94.8% in Commerce, the highest ever for a student of MES. Aditya Muraletharan (MES) came second in Science with 95%. Dareddy Manoj Reddy and Najeeba, also from MES, shared the third place with 94.6%. The fourth place in Science was shared between Marwa Ayoob (Ideal) and Samira Siddique (MES) with 94%. Akanksha Menon (Ideal) came fifth with 93.8%, and Rupalakshmi Vijayan (DPS-MIS) sixth with 93.2%. In Commerce, the second to sixth positions went to Boney Cherian Wattacheril of MES (93.8%), Rakhi Karunakaran of Ideal (93.4%), Zaieema Zakaria of Ideal (93.2%), Nasneen of MES (93%), and Sheetal Rose Jose of Ideal (92.8%). The 26th batch of Class XII from MES comprised 467 students, including 300 in the Science stream and 167 in Commerce. At MES, 13 students secured A1 in all subjects. They are Dareddy Manoj Reddy, Najeeba, Samira Siddique, K Vignesh Raghavan, Deepthi Mariam Samuel, Kumaran Suraj, Jayati Hitesh Desai, Dhinesh Baulraj, Richin Johns Abraham, Sneha Aninha D Costa, Deepak Suresh Babu, Esther Mary Soman and Rohit Narayanan. Najeeba and Abishek Rajendra Nair emerged top in Engineering Drawing scoring 100%. The other subject toppers at MES: English - Jayati Hitesh Desai, Dhinesh Baulraj, Jissa Mariam Joy, Madhurima Datta, Clifford Joseph, Sheikh Aveed and Mohamed Shamfil (93%). Physics - Fawad Abdul Waheed Kasu (97%); Chemistry - Shadiya Abdul Hameed (98%); Maths - Aditya Muraletharan, Rinchu Mathew, Mishub Bava Usman, Vinoth Sivakumaran (99%); Biology - Anjali Ravindran, Shadiya Abdul Hameed, Amritha Ranganadhan (98%); Biotechnology - Najila Ibrahim, Farhad Qureshi (96%); Home Science - Fouzia Farah Zafar (99%); Informatics Practices - Samira Siddique, Nasneen (99%); Computer Science - Asma Sadia (99%); Economics - Boney Cherian Wattacheril (97%); Business Studies - Boney Cherian Wattacheril, Najwa Mohamed (99%); Accountancy - Sweeny D’Souza, Faheema Abdul Jaleel, Shivangi Singh, Ajvad Sayid Mohamed P S, Anirudh Deep (95%). At Ideal, 140 students out of 143 who appeared scored first class (60% and above). A total of 85 bagged the distinction level of 75%. Subject toppers: Azhar Khan - 95% in English (Core)and 96% in Physics, Bevin Mathew - 98% in Chemistry, Marwa Ayoob 99% - Biology, Aravind Rajan - 100% in Engineering Drawing, Rakhi Karunakaran - 95% in Accountancy and 96% in Informatics Practices, Jevika Shetty - 97% in Economics, Jennifer Marie Rodrigues - 99% in Business Studies, Rakhi Karunakaran and Sheetal Rose Jose - 96% in Psychology. Azhar Khan, Aravind Rajan and Bevin Mathew scored 99% in Mathematics and Zaieema Zakaria, Jennifer Marie Rodrigues and Naila Sumbul scored 97% in Home Science. At DPS-MIS, Arpan Saha and Nishtha Gupta shared the second place in the Science stream with 93% and Pednekar Sidhant Chandrakant came third with 92.8%. In the Commerce stream, the DPS-MIS topper was S Sahana Lakshmi (89.8%), followed by Bhanu Joshi (89.6%) and Mithila M Abeysekara (89.4%). All 60 students of the school - 49 in Science and 11 in Commerce - who took the exam passed. The subject toppers at DPS-MIS: Functional English - Alia Zimsia Nazer (93%), Mathematics - Deepthi John (99%), Physics - Arpan Saha (96%), Chemistry - Nishtha Gupta (98%), Biology - Ganti Sri Ramya (98%), Computer Science - Pednekar Sidhant Chandrakant (99%), Economics - Sahanalakshmi S (93%), Business Studies - Bhanu Joshi (96%), Accountancy - Ameera H Kunhi, Arjun Chatterji (88%), Psychology - Ganti Sri Ramya (96%), Physical Education - Alia Zimsia Nazer (93%). “The results are the fruits of our children’s hard labour and proof of our teachers’ relentless support,” MES Principal F M Basheer Ahmed said. |
