More than 4,000 exhibits will be on view at the Qafco Flower and Vegetable Show to be held at Al Banush Football grounds in Mesaieed on Friday, March 27. At least 400 individuals and institutions will participate in this year’s show, according to the organisers. The exhibits are divided into five categories, namely flowers; vegetables and fruits; pot plants; flower arrangement; and fruit, vegetable and butter carving. There will be live ice carving and vegetable carving competitions. A flower arrangement competition is to be held for children, amateurs and professionals. “These competitions, held before a highly impressive turn-out of people is an excellent demonstration of concentration, skill and imagination,” the organisers said. A wide array of fresh flowers, including roses, African marigolds, bougainvilleas and chrysanthemums, will be displayed in vases. The show is sponsored and organised by Qatar Fertiliser Company under the auspices of H E Abdulla bin Hamad al-Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry. |
