PHASE One of the D-Ring Road Development project opens today.
The 6-km long stretch of the road that was completed at a cost of QR266mn links the junctions of Al Assiri, Khalifa Al Attiyah and E-Ring Road leading finally to the Al Montazah street.
The first phase of the project starts from the intersection point of Al Mirqab (Al Nasr) street.
The opening of the second phase, which is expected within a few days, will enable motorists to drive from Al Tadamun roundabout toward the D-Ring Road Junction and to the intersection point of Al Mirqab street (Al Nasr).
The third phase, which will be opened later, starts from Mesaimeer roundabout (Al Obeidly) to the road leading to Al Mirqab street (Al Nasr) through Al Assiri and Al Attiyah junctions.
The project will include three lanes in each direction with service roads on both sides.
It also includes the construction of two flyovers and a tunnel.
Al Assiri tunnel will be reopened after the completion of the D-Ring Road Junction, which is expected to ease the traffic jams on C-Ring and D Ring roads.
The project is a part of the QR15bn Doha Highway.
