MANNAI Auto has announced the imminent launch in Qatar of the high performance luxury sedan, the 650hp Cadillac CTS-V 2009 sedan. Mannai Auto is the sole importer of Cadillac, Hummer, GMC, Opel and Subaru in the country. “The residents of Qatar are connoisseurs of performance cars, and the CTS-V 2009 sedan is eagerly awaited by them,” Mannai Auto general manager Mohamed Helmy said. Described as a masterpiece of automotive engineering, the CTS-V is part of Cadillac’s V-Series line of high performance vehicles. The CTS-V boasts a 6.2 litre V8 engine that churns out a whopping 650hp and 747 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with either a six speed manual transmission with a short-throw shifter for faster and more accurate gear changes, or an automatic six-speed paddle shifter. The end result is a zero to 100kmh time of just 3.9 seconds. Adding to the allure of the CTS-V are a track ready suspension and 18-inch wheels shod with Z rated F1 supercar run-flat tyres. In addition, for the first time Cadillac has installed 14-way adjustable performance Recaro seats to keep the driver firmly planted even while throwing the car into high-speed corners. The sedan also features the world’s fastest reacting suspension technology in the form of Magnetic Ride Control (MRC), which is electrically activated within one millisecond to react to changing driving conditions, cornering and braking. “The CTS-V represents the full extension of our design, technology and performance capabilities,” Cadillac general manager Jim Taylor said. “The V-Series takes the award-winning CTS sport sedan and elevates it to a position within the club of the world’s most exclusive and capable cars,” he explained. In testing on May 8 at Germany’s famed Nürburgring track, the 2009 CTS-V completed a lap of the 24-hour Nordschleife race in 7:59.32. This blistering time appears to be the fastest ever publicly documented for a production sedan on factory-spec street tyres. Cadillac has launched www.ctsvarabia.com for those interested to be among the first owners of the most powerful production V8 sedan. Upon registration, customers will be provided with more information on the CTS-V, and will have the chance to be the first to book the car in the Middle East. “This is a very exciting time indeed for all of us at Mannai Trading Company and indeed for the automotive community of Qatar,” Helmy added. |
