HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday met several heads of state and dignitaries on the sidelines of the Follow-Up International Conference on Financing for Development. The Emir held talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, President Faure Gnassingbe of Togo, Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, Prime Minister of Mauritania Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdaf, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia M Enkhbold, the UN Assembly General President Miguel d’Escoto, Cote d’Ivoire’s President Laurent Gbagbo, Congo-Brazzaville President Denis Sassou Nguesso, Malawi’s president Bingu wa Mutharika and Comorian President Ahmed Abdullah Mohamed Sambi. Talks during the meetings, held at the Doha Four Seasons Hotel, dealt with bilateral relations and a number of topics tabled on the conference’s agenda. The meetings were attended by, among others, HE the Director of the Emir’s Office Sheikha Hind bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani. – QNA |
