ANJUMAN Muhibban-e-Urdu Hind Qatar (AMUHQ), an organisation affiliated to the Indian Cultual Centre (ICC), held a poetry session dedicated to Urdu poet Allama Iqbal at the residence of its founder Ibrahim Khan Kamal recently. The function was presided over by the general secretary of Halqua-e-Adab-e-Islami Qatar (HAIQ), Ataur Rahman Nadvi. Iftikhar Raghib, a local poet and joint secretary of Bazm-e-Urdu Qatar (BUQ) and HAIQ, was the chief guest. A member of AMUHQ, Syed Saifullah, welcomed the guests and poets. The general secretary of AMUHQ, Aziz Nabeel, compered the poetry session and presented a brief introduction on Allama Iqbal and his poetry. Mumtaz Rashid, Amjad Ali Sarwar, Irshad Aazmi, Nadeem Mahir, Ashfaque Qalaque, Syed Fahimuddin, Mansoor Aazmi, Zauar Hussain Zair, Jamshed Ansari, Imran Aawan and Habeeb Hyderabadi recited poems. The president of AMUHQ, Khalid Dad Khan proposed a vote of thanks to all Urdu lovers at the end.
