Business Reporter WOQOD, Qatar’s sole fuel distributor, said yesterday that there was no shortage of super petrol, or gasoline super (Octane 97), anywhere in Doha. The company was responding to queries regarding complaints of ‘severe shortage’ of super petrol at various outlets in Doha in the past two days. Woqod’s marketing manager Mark Vidler said he was not aware of any shortage of super petrol anywhere in Doha. “Woqod’s outlets also had sufficient stock of super grade petrol,” he told Gulf Times. Nevertheless, Vidler said he would inquire into the issue. A motorist said he had to drive through four petrol stations last night to fill up his car with super petrol. It wasn’t available in three outlets. He said these petrol stations were located at Hilal, the Corniche and the West Bay. Another motorist said he did not find super petrol at a pump near Toyota Tower yesterday morning. “I was asked to come back around noon yesterday. However, I filled up my car with super petrol from an outlet near New Salata Interchange,” he said. |
