Hummer owners held a get-together at Sealine Beach Resort in Khor Al Udeid recently. Called ‘Hummer Base’, the get-together was held in Qatar after similar meetings of Hummer owners in Dubai and Jeddah.
Besides meeting and exchanging views on the formation of Hummer Base, the owners went off-roading in a group. The journey to the desert soon turned into an impressive Hummer road parade on the Khor Al Udeid highway.
The scheduled route consisted of rocky terrain and desert sand. It was a pleasant and smooth ride to an Arabian tent where Hummer Base members served themselves lunch packs and refreshments.
The organisers said the Hummer owners enjoyed the gathering in a spirit of friendship.
Hummer owners in Qatar are planning to form an interim committee for Hub-Mannai. Those who own a Hummer and wish to be part of the group could contact Mannai showroom officials.
nThe Hummer comes in various models: the H1, H2, H3, H2 SUT. General Motors is reportedly working on an H4, a smaller off-roader. The Hummer H1 is the biggest and heaviest off-road vehicle in the world. It weighs 3.6 tonnes and is more than 7ft wide.
