Staff Reporter HH Sheikha Mozah Nasser al-Misnad chaired yesterday the seventh meeting of Qatar Foundation’s board of directors at the organisation’s headquarters at Education City. The meeting’s agenda included reports submitted by three branch campuses of Education City on the progress of bringing world-class higher education to the Gulf region. Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar dean Christina Lindholm, Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar dean Dr Daniel R Alonso, and Texas A & M University in Qatar’s dean and CEO Dr Mark H Weichold presented the reports. The board, which considered the paths the organisation is taking towards its ultimate goal of creating a knowledge-based society in Qatar, also held a brainstorming session on strategic options to accelerate this process. The board is Qatar Foundation’s highest decision-making body with leading figures from the fields of education, industry and healthcare in Qatar and abroad. |
