RIO DE JANEIRO: Fourteen people were killed and 22 seriously injured when a bus crashed into a truck in southeastern Brazil, police said yesterday. The bus, with the Viacao Passaro Verde company, had 36 people on board and was traveling between the cities of Mariana and Ponte Nova in Minas Gerais state around midnight when it slammed head-on into a truck carrying paper, police said. The cause of the deadly crash was not immediately known, but authorities were investigating. – AFP |
