In response to earlier suggestions by the Central Municipal Council, HE the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa al-Thani has announced a plan to redistribute yards in the Central Market to accommodate more vendors.
He affirmed that the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning (MMUP) maintained close co-ordination with the Consumer Protection Department regarding all issues of the Central Market.
The MMUP has been working to upgrade the market and improve its facilities, it was observed.

Range Rover vehicles recalled
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has announced a recall of 2006-2012 Range Rover vehicles due to a defect in the front brake hoses, the official Qatar News Agency reported.
The recall campaign is being conducted in co-operation with Alfardan Premier Motors, the exclusive importer of Land Rover in Qatar.
The campaign falls within the framework of ongoing co-ordination and follow-up by the MEC to ascertain the extent of car dealerships’ commitment to follow up on vehicle defects and repair them to protect consumer rights.
The ministry has stressed it will co-ordinate with the dealership to follow up on maintenance and repair operations and communicate with customers to ensure implementation of the procedures to fix defects.
It has urged consumers to report violations to the Department of Consumer Protection and Commercial Fraud Combat.

Poor visibility in the early hours due to fog
The weather office has said poor visibility is expected in some parts of the country in the early hours today due to fog. Visibility may drop to 2km or less in some places.
The forecast for inshore areas says it will be hazy to misty/foggy in certain areas at first. This will be followed by moderate temperatures during the day with some clouds and haze at night.Offshore areas will be partly cloudy and hazy.
The minimum and maximum temperatures in the country are expected to be 17C and 28C, respectively, with the forecast for Doha being 20C and 27C.

Qatar-US military ties discussed
HE the Minister of State for Defence Affairs Major General Hamad bin Ali al-Attiyah yesterday met the visiting Commander of the US Army Central Command Lt General Michael X Garrett. They reviewed the  military relations between Qatar and the US. The meeting was attended by HE the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Major General Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem.
