HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari joins DFI CEO and Ajyal festival director Fatma al-Remaihi, Occidental Petroleum CEO Steve Kelly and diplomats at a networking event hosted by DFI.

 

A networking event hosted by the Doha Film Institute (DFI) in order to augment the links with the local diplomatic community was attended by HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari and ambassadors from 20 countries.
Ambassadors of the US, Korea, Spain, Switzerland, India, Georgia, Netherlands, Japan, Brazil, Palestine, France, Portugal, Canada, Mexico, Bulgaria, Belgium, Sweden, UAE, the UK and Argentina met with senior DFI officials and other guests.
DFI is hosting the third annual Ajyal Youth Film Festival from November 29 to December 5.
The programme consists of daily public screenings of local and international films; the popular ‘Made in Qatar’ section dedicated to showcasing home-grown talent from Qatar; Sony Cinema Under the Stars; family weekend; the Doha Giffoni Youth Media Summit; special events and exhibitions; the Sandbox interactive digital playground; school screenings and the Ajyal Competition, where hundreds of young jurors between the ages of eight and 21 will watch and discuss shorts and features and decide on the winning films.
