A large number of Doha Bank customers were affected as they were not able to withdraw cash or use cards for purchases due to a technical glitch.

Several customers said Doha Bank’s ATM machines across Doha remained “offline” since today morning as the network was “inaccessible”.

“I was inconvenienced because my salary was credited only today. Because of month-end, I did not have much cash either. My Doha Bank cards did not go through at the POS in a leading hypermarket today,” a resident said.

Doha Bank said its nation-wide network would be "restored at the earliest".

“The point of sale was the first to be restored and we have seen many POS transactions already,” said a senior bank executive.
