Contemporary Qatari Art Exhibition, which featured 46 pieces of art, representing the works of three generations of Qatari artists in the Turkish capital of Ankara, will come to an end tomorrow.
The event is being held by the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage as part of the Qatar-Turkey 2015 Year of Culture. The event included a brief presentation on the fine arts movement in the State of Qatar and technical experiments by renowned artist Yusuf Ahmed, during which he reviewed the process of art and its development in Qatar and the factors that helped to elevate this art movement to the level which it is currently..
Some 22 Qatari artists participated in the event. They are Yusuf Ahmed, Hassan Mullah, Salman al-Malik, Faraj Daham, Jamila al-Shraim, Hesa Kila, Amal al-Athem, Hanadi Darwish, Amera al-Aji, Ahmed al-Hamar, Abdulrahman al-Mutawaa, Khalifa al-Obaidly, Fatima al-Shaibani, Mona Bojsoom, Mariam al-Moosa, Moza al-Kuwari, Essa al-Mulla, Rashid al-Mohannadi, Modhi al-Hajri, Mubarak al-Malik, Nawal al-Mannai, and Ibtisam al-Saffar.
The exhibition’s opening ceremony, which was held in May, was attended by Qatar’s ambassador to Turkey Salem bin Mubarak al-Shafi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Haluk Dursun, heads of foreign missions and organisations as well as a number of Turkish officials and artists.
