The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has ordered closure of the main showroom of a local auto dealer and two of its branches for selling new vehicles without informing the customers that they were involved in accidents and repaired and repainted.
MEC law enforcement officers spotted such violations during some of their inspection tours on commercial outlets to ensure compliance with Law No. 8 for 2008 on the consumer protection. Accordingly, the main showroom of the auto dealer on Airport Road was closed for one month.
The two other showrooms located on Salwa Road and belonging to distributors of the auto dealer concerned were closed for two weeks and one week, respectively, the MEC added in a statement.
