The three-day Cityscape Qatar 2015 concluded yesterday, reaffirming that “all real estate sectors are set for significant expansion in the coming years”, particularly residential and retail, as the country continues to invest in large-scale infrastructure and construction projects in the lead-up to the 2022 Fifa World Cup and Qatar National Vision 2030, according to the organisers.
The event, held under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, offered a number of networking opportunities for the industry’s key local, regional and international players, which included United Development Company (UDC), United Developers, Al Bandary Real Estate, Dubai Properties and Astad Project Management.
One of the most high-profile projects at this year’s event was UDC’s The Pearl-Qatar. “During Cityscape, we had the chance to showcase The Pearl-Qatar and highlight its positioning as a model, first-class mixed-use urban development in Qatar offering five-star services to a growing list of residents, retailers and visitors,” said Roger Dagher, director of corporate communications at UDC.
Among the other 85 exhibitors participating in Cityscape Qatar 2015 was Astad Project Management, a leading project management consultancy in Qatar that is currently managing some of the nation’s key projects across sectors.
Ali al-Khalifa, CEO of Astad Project Management, said: “Opportunities like Cityscape bring together industry leaders and provide the perfect setting for us to share knowledge, experiences and expertise as well as gauge pressing challenges that our business environment imposes on us.”
In addition, in line with the real estate sector’s rapid residential expansion, Al Bandary Real Estate had a number of its leading projects on display at Cityscape Qatar, including its new project, Jumana Two, a tower at The Pearl-Qatar.
Maen al-Haj, property and real estate manager, said: “Throughout Cityscape Qatar 2015, Al Bandary Real Estate has continued its intensive deals. The opportunity was ours to showcase our latest projects to every visitor who visited our stand as well as the exhibition in general.”
Deep Marwaha, group director of Cityscape, said: “We are delighted to confirm that the fourth edition of Cityscape Qatar was a resounding success and it is paramount that we continue to have exhibitions such as this one.”
The event concluded with its Sector Series, which featured in-depth discussions on social infrastructure, residential, office and tourism & hospitality.
Cityscape Qatar 2015 attracted some 85 exhibitors from over 20 countries, along with 8,000 visitors over three days, the organisers said.
