Turkish Airlines has supported a medical familiarisation tour for eight women from the Qatari Businesswomen Association.
The seven-day excursion to Turkey, which was organised by Gate To Wellness - a travel agency in Doha that mainly conducts medical and spa trips, was intended to highlight Turkey’s “modern-day, cutting-edge health and wellness facilities”, according to a statement.
Turkey aims to attract an increasing number of medical tourists to the country for high-quality, affordable care, the statement notes.
The journey started in Istanbul where the women had a full medical check-up at a hospital, after which they spent three days touring Istanbul. They also visited the Sapanca area and enjoyed four days at a wellness centre, where they were able to choose between a detox programme, relaxing programme and a Hypoxi programme.
Mehmed Kursad Caymaz, general manager of Turkish Airlines in Qatar, said: “The trip was a great success and enjoyed by all. The women got a real taste of Turkish hospitality and wellness. Turkey is truly one of the most beautiful places to rejuvenate oneself.”
Ibtissam Mohamed, a member of the tour, added: “The arrangements were excellent at all places. I thank Gate To Wellness and Turkish Airlines for this joyful journey.”
After nine years of operations in Doha, Turkish Airlines now has 14 weekly flights, connecting travellers from the city to 268 destinations globally across 109 countries.
