A public draw for plots of land in the first logistics zone at Jarri Al Samra in Umm Salal will be conducted tomorrow, the Logistics Committee at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce has announced.
In order to ensure transparency, the committee has invited all companies that have qualified for the process to attend the draw for such plots, according to a statement.
Twenty-one plots are available at Jarri Al Samra for investment in various warehouses projects and plants for assembly and preparation, the statement adds.
The area provides various economic incentives for potential investors such as comprehensive infrastructure at an estimated cost of QR133.25mn, which will be accomplished within 24 months. Besides, it features a strategic location as well as long-term rental contracts of up to 30 years at a rate of QR900/sq m paid in four instalments. The rental value covers also the costs of maintenance, management and security.
Investors have various options for developing the area, such as the creation of administrative offices, labourers’ accommodation and technical facilities. In addition, they would be able to develop a commercial showroom within their assigned plot.     
The Logistics Committee includes the representatives of various government entities concerned.
