Ezdan Mall retailers have posted a double digit growth from 2013 to 2014, general manager Malik Qaiser said.
He made the announcement in a speech during Ezdan Mall’s second anniversary celebration held on Wednesday, which was highlighted by the staging of the “Retail Excellence Awards 2014.”
“Our retailers reported a double digit growth from 2013 to 2014 and achieved high sales density of up to $1,000 in brands such as Charles & Keith and US Polo, while succeeding to get high transaction values.
“The well time spend in Ezdan Mall reached 90 minutes, which indicates the unique shopping experience we are offering our guests differentiating us from any other mall,” Qaiser said.
Qaiser said the mall’s focus as a new shopping destination was to target local and expatriate families.
“We put greater focus on the social atmosphere, high-end services, as well as to introduce brands that are not yet found in Qatar, including more than 50 new brands. We pride ourselves in listening to all guest requests and taking action accordingly,” he said.
According to Qaiser, the “Retail Excellence Awards 2014” was initiated by Ezdan Mall for the first time in Qatar to recognise retailers’ achievements and encourage them “to achieve the best results while maintaining the best shopping experience.”
“The awards were given to top performing brands, based mainly on retailers’ sales density by category and taking into account different KPIs (key performance indicators),” Qaiser said.
“These KPIs includes retailer’s staff, customer service, merchandising, and compliance to mall operations and policies. We aim to encourage our retailers to achieve best results while maintaining the best shopping experience in addition to recognising their achievements in 2014.”
Qaiser said the event was attended by ambassadors Ahmet Demirok of Turkey, Tunisia’s Salah Salhi, Russia’s Nurmakhmad Kholov, Ezdan Holding Group CEO Ali al-Obadily, and Ezdan Hotels general manager Hasib Kayali.
The retailers were represented by Pari Gallery general manager Salman Abdulrahim, Armada Group owner Ahmed Islamil al-Tahhan, Al Jazeera Perfumes owner Hashem al-Hashemi, and Dr Shaikh Ayadh al-Qahtani from RAF Charity.
Armada Group received the “Best Retail Group” award and Riva Store from Armada was selected as “Best Retail Brand Overall Performance,” while Charles & Keith by Apparel Group bagged the “Best Retail Brand” (footwear category).
The “Best Retail Brand” awards were given to Choice from Armada (women’s wear), Monsoon Kids (children’s wear), US Polo (unisex), Popeye’s (fast food), Tim Horton’s (coffee shops), Mado from Turkey (restaurants), and Funville (entertainment).
