Qatar News Agency has launched a new version of the Live from Qatar site -www.QatarBroadcast.qa – to help improve the site's performance and increasing its capacity.

Director of QNA technical affairs department Engineer Khaled al-Mutawa said the site’s layout has been changed completely to keep pace with modern design. An interactive interface compatible with all types of devices and screen sizes has been set for easy use for both desktop computers and mobile devices. The site works with Arabic and English language interfaces, he added.

Al-Mutawa said in a statement that browsing the recorded material through the site for users of mobile devices and smartphones has been fixed. Moreover an experimental broadcasting of Al-Bidaa channel has been added to bring the number of channels that are broadcast to six television channels and six radio stations.

He added that shifting between the recorded material for up to five days and live broadcasting has been improved, apart from improving the image and sound quality.

The website encompasses another group of additional services including live news from the State of Qatar by Qatar News Agency (QNA), exclusive photographs of Qatar, links to Qatari newspapers, and means to contact QNA.

It includes a video-on-demand service, which records programmes for up to three days for later viewing. It allows the viewer to access any desired programme at any time.

Live from Qatar is the first of its kind in the Arab world, grouping broadcasts from state channels and stations in one place through a governmental body specialising in Qatari media and disseminating it to the world.
