Performers from Qatar, Iran, Cameroon, Palestine, Jordan, Brazil, Serbia, Mexico and folk dancers from Turkey took the centre stage for the opening ceremony of the first heritage carnival and bazaar at Katara – the Cultural Village yesterday. A large number of spectators, who were also enthralled by acrobatics, circus and theatrical shows, were earlier welcomed by stilt walkers, mascots and Angry Birds characters.
