The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has partially closed a meat shop at a well-known shopping mall in Nauija area for one month, due to manipulation of the source country of the products on display.
MEC inspectors discovered, after a test by a veterinarian, that meat labelled Australian lamb ribs, were actually from New Zealand and what was labelled as Pakistani calf liver was local. An advertisement containing the violation will be published in two local dailies at the cost of the violator, besides a posting on the MEC website.
