Ooredoo will sponsor the eighth annual Al Khor Fly-In, which will take place at the Al Khor Airport on January 9 and 10, attracting a huge crowd of families and general aviation fans.
The event will enable guests and visitors to see a range of light aircraft on display up close and personal, as well as enable them to freely interact with pilots.
The Al Khor Fly-In is an open event organised by owners of light aircraft in Qatar with the intention to introduce general aviation to public. The event, which began in 2008, has worked to motivate and promote aviation as a sport and hobby to the youth of Qatar and across the GCC.
Mustafa Jameel Al-Qatami, Director Branding & Corporate Communications, Ooredoo, said: “Ooredoo continues to support sports and hobbies that motivate and engage young people, and this fun-filled aviation event is a great example of a community initiative with a message. Ooredoo is proud to support the Al Khor Fly-In and hopes to see people enjoying themselves at the event.”
As sponsor, Ooredoo will host a booth at the event, offering information and services such as Mobile Money and Hala Top-Ups.
Ooredoo has a long history of sponsoring aviation events in Qatar and believes it is important to sustain the interest of the next generation through fun-filled yet highly educational events such as this.
The Al Khor Airport, located 31km north of Doha, is to the east of the Al Khor coastal road. Gates of the event will be open to the public from 8am up to 5.30pm and entrance will be free of charge.
