The weekly Cabinet meeting, presided over by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, approved the proposal of the Environment Ministry to amend some provisions of the draft  decision of the Environment Minister on regulating fishing activities in order to preserve stocks.
The Cabinet agreed to host the first meeting of the Education Ministers of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) and the preparatory meeting of education undersecretaries in Doha on 7th and  8th of January 2015.  
The Cabinet approved the following:
1. A draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the areas of training, development and consultancy and other civil service affairs and administrative development between the governments of Qatar and Oman.
2. A draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the area of capacity-building of government officials of the Ministry of administrative development in Qatar and the Institute of public administration in Oman.
3. A draft convention on improving tax compliance and the application of the law on tax compliance for foreign accounts between the governments of Qatar and the United States.
 The Cabinet then reviewed the following topics and took the appropriate decisions:
1. Draft law amending some provisions of Law No 40 of 2004 concerning the guardianship of minors’ funds.
2.  The  letter of the Minister of Energy and Industry, and  Chairman of the Standing Committee of Water Resources on the third quarterly report for 2014 on the work of the committee.
The report noted that the committee had discussed issues on which decisions were taken, including  the cost of and use of treated wastewater as well as  the social and economic impacts of prohibiting the use of groundwater in forage production and rationalising the use of desalinated water and study of water treatment expansion plans besides requiring the competent authorities to use the rehabilitation of drinking water wells.
3. The Minister of Justice’s letter  on the outcome of 30th Session of the  Arab Ministers of Justice Council and the 55th Session of  the Executive Bureau which was held in Jeddah in April 2014.
4. The Minister of Administrative Development’s letter on the outcome of the meeting of  GCC ministers and the heads of the civil service departments which was held in Kuwait in September 2014.
