A regional training course on human rights concepts and mechanisms for Kuwaiti diplomats in GCC countries started in Doha yesterday.

The five-day regional training course is co-organised by Qatari National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) and Geneva Institute for Human Rights (GIHR) aimed at establishing and promoting the concept of human rights within the diplomatic corps.

Addressing the opening session of the training course, Deputy Chairman of the NHRC Dr Yousuf Obaidan said that human rights and relevant basic freedoms are of local, regional and international significance. Eight Kuwaiti diplomats working at US embassies in GCC countries are taking part in the course.

 PHCC receives accreditation

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has successfully achieved accreditation from Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP).

According to Dr Mariam Ali Abdulamlik, managing director of PHCC, this has been achieved as per the response to the recommendations mentioned in PHCC-WFD initial compliance report in September, which reflects PHCC’s dedication and commitment to QCHP accreditation as CPD provider in Qatar.

QCHP has declared that PHCC’s performance is found to be satisfactory and compliant with the CME/CPD requirements and standards set by the accreditation department at Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP).
