The General Directorate of Nationality, Borders and Expatriate Affairs has launched at its headquarters the service of interview through video conferencing with the recruitment committee which approves family residence visa applications.

Applicants for family visa henceforth need not meet the recruitment committee at the headquarters for the final approval of the application, instead they can report to the Mesaimeer Service Centre from where they can attend the interview through video conferencing.

The service is provided through a live broadcast from a special room arranged for interviews at the Service Centre where the screen is connected to the Recruitment Committee at the headquarters of the General Directorate. The committee can directly seek all required documents from the applicant.

“This service is to be extended to all the other service centres of the Ministry of Interior later,” said Brigadier Abdullah Salim al-Ali, the Director General of General Directorate of Nationality, Borders and Expatriate Affairs.

He explained that the service comes within the framework of implementing the strategy of Ministry of Interior in providing excellent online services to the customers.

The Ministry is seeking to build an integrated electronic system for all services provided to citizens and residents, where they can now complete transactions any of the service centres nearer to their localities.
