A car exhibition was inaugurated at Katara - the Cultural Village yesterday by HE the Minister of Youth and Sports Salah bin Ghanim bin Nasser al-Ali and Katara general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti.

A number of VIPs were present at the opening ceremony, including HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani.

Held in the southern parking area of Katara with more than 800 cars of different types, including contemporary, vintage and sports vehicles, the event has drawn participants from all GCC countries.

“This event is the first of its type this season. At the ministry, we are keen to enable young people to express themselves and give them the full opportunity to practise their favoured hobbies,” said HE al-Ali, stressing that cars are
of great interest among people in Qatar.

Dr al-Sulaiti highlighted that the event was a good opportunity for young people to share experiences on a subject of common interest. It was also a platform for enhancing communication among different generations.

Salem Saeed al-Muhannadi, director of Mawater, which has organised the event with Katara, said the Cultural Village has provided ample space for the exhibition besides having a prime location.
