President Correa and his delegation, accompanied by ambassador Abisaab and Dr al-Sulaiti, taking a tour of Katara yesterday.

President of Ecuador Rafael Correa, who was in Qatar on a three-day official visit, toured Katara - the Cultural Village yesterday before he left the country.

President Correa and his accompanying delegation were received by Katara general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti and a number of senior officials.

Dr al-Sulaiti accompanied Correa on a tour of Katara, showed him the prominent landmarks of the Cultural Village and gave a briefing on the future projects.

Correa was impressed with what he saw at Katara, especially the Amphitheatre, which is considered to be one of the few such structures overlooking the sea. The visiting dignitary also went to the Opera House and witnessed some traditional Qatari shows.

President Correa expressed his admiration of the Cultural Village and hailed its hosting of the popular Ecuador cultural festival last year. President Correa and Dr al-Sulaiti exchanged mementos at the end of the visit.

Ecuador’s ambassador to Qatar, Kabalan Abisaab, was also present.
