The Ideal Indian School has hiked the salaries of teachers and other staff by 10% from October 1. “Our president declared the salary hike on the very first day of the reopening of the school after Eid holidays,” school principal Syed Shoukat Ali said.

“This is in addition to the recent hike we had given to the teachers in April-May this year,” he said. Gulf Times had recently reported about the low salaries of teachers in Indian and other community schools.  A prominent community member hoped other schools will follow suit. “It is high time that the salaries of teachers are revised and all teachers are given a salary that is on par with their qualifications and credentials. Hopefully, all Indian schools will take care of the salary and perks of the teachers and provide them with a salary that goes in accordance with the living cost of the country.”
