Qatargas has announced its support for the Arshedny Centre, run by Sheikh Eid Charitable Association, in the form of a financial contribution.

The contribution from Qatargas will be used to support drug abuse awareness and rehabilitation programmes run by the centre, Qatargas said in a statement yesterday.

“We commend the initiative taken by Sheikh Eid Charitable Association and the Arshedny Centre to address the issue of drug abuse and rehabilitation and are very pleased to support their efforts in this regard. Supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing the health and well-being of society are key elements of Qatargas’s corporate social responsibility, aligned with the human development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030,” said Mansour Rashid al-Naimi, public relations manager, Qatargas.

“Qatargas has always been keen to support the Arshedny Centre and its projects that serve the community through counselling and rehabilitation, and spreading awareness among young people and society as a whole. We appreciate the continued support and active participation,” said Sultan bin Abdulla al-Otaibi, director, Arshedny Centre.

The Arshedny Centre is a specialised, non-profit organisation providing scientific programmes in counselling, rehabilitation, training and prevention of drug abuse.

The centre works to establish effective partnerships with local, regional and global institutions and organisations competent in addressing the problems of addiction in accordance with international best practices and global standards.
