Banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions will remain closed for five days from October 5 in view of Eid al-Adha, a circular issued by Qatar Central Bank shows.

Effectively, banks and other financial institutions will be closed for nine days in view of the weekend holidays. They will resume on October 12 after Eid Al Adha holidays.

However, certain banks are keeping some of their branches open during Eid al-Adha to avoid customer inconvenience.

Qatar Stock Exchange would also remain closed for five working days from October 5 to 9 based on the QCB circular and instructions from Qatar Financial Markets Authority, QSE said in its website.

An exchange house official, however, said he had not received any communication from QCB on Eid al-Adha holidays.

“But we are very unlikely to remain closed for more than two or three days. Our holiday plan will be finalised tomorrow,” he said.
