The ‘Waste Management & Recycling Summit’ will be held in Qatar on September 17-18 at the Intercontinental Doha. The theme will be ‘Moving Qatar to a greener and waste free future’. The global trend of producing waste to energy and waste to resource will continue to shape the world’s environmental order, creating a global resource industry that is estimated to be a billion dollar industry by 2040. The event is supported by Supreme Council of Health, Qatar Green Building Council, Middle East Facility Management and Qatar Project Management.

The summit will see international and national experts like Michael Nagy, head of environment statistics & sustainable development section, Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, Qatar; Khaled el-Maadi, Public Works Authority Ashghal;  Par Carlsson, Boras City Representative, Global Cities Sustainable Network; Dr Mussa Fadi, Specialist, Environmental Health, Supreme Council of Health; Eng. Rehan Ahmed, Head of Waste Disposal Unit, Supreme Council for Environment, Bahrain; Dr Mohamed Ali al- Muhannadi, Senior Environment Specialist, Kahramaa.  In addition, Stefan Kipp, general manager, Keppel Seghers GMBH will also share views and best practices on waste handling techniques and the role of technology in effectively disposing of this waste.
