Qatar Charity has expressed its gratitude and appreciation for all national institutions and companies that have contributed to the success of its Ramadan 1435 AH campaign, “Noor ul Ataa”.

The funds raised were used for social development efforts within and outside the State.

“Qatar Charity believes in the importance of partnership and co-operation in achieving the Millennium Development Goals and promoting humanitarian work in general. In order to entrench these principles, we constantly widen the circle of co-operation with partners nationally, regionally and internationally,” said Yousef bin Ahmed al-Kuwari, CEO of
Qatar Charity.

“This aim is fully consistent with the vision of the beloved State of Qatar, which strives to provide humanitarian aid and implement programmes and development projects for poor and needy communities throughout the world,” he added.

Al-Kuwari explained that Qatar Charity has a significant interest in corporate social responsibility and strives to build institutional partnerships and co-operation with various private sector companies for the implementation of development and relief programmes locally and internationally, expressing the hope that more such partnerships will follow and facilitate key initiatives that contribute to community service.

“Qatar Charity’s role is not limited to co-operation with the public, private and third sectors in the field of social responsibility so as to finance or support projects and attract resources for charitable work. It also extends to outreach efforts, training and consulting,” he stressed.

Thes Ramadan 1435 AH campaign, “Noor ul Ataa”, represented a significant leap in terms of cost, diversification and expansion of the circle of beneficiaries, and was characterised by a focus on the Syrian people through the allocation of a special programme for refugees and displaced Syrians.

Donors were also encouraged to help fund development and relief projects both within and outside Qatar, including the sponsorship of orphans and needy families, educational, income-generating, water and food projects and the fight against poverty.

The partnerships that have been part of the campaign covered different sectors, including government, semi-government and private non-profit, as well as different forms of partnerships, frameworks and outputs.

These involved providing discounts to beneficiaries, direct support for beneficiaries, support for projects with a direct social impact, providing an opportunity for staff to make in-kind contributions to intensive campaigns for the benefit of the needy, providing facilities and infrastructure services that make it easier for Qatar Charity to implement its programmes and projects, the adoption of local values and spreading recreational, cultural and social awareness.

In the field of public sector and quasi-government, Qatar Charity has partnerships with the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, General Administration of Awqaf (Waqf bank for serving mosques), Civil Defence, Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) and the Childhood Cultural Centre.

It also has partnerships with a number of companies and institutions within the State as well as some media organisations.
