Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Khramaa) has taken all technical and administrative steps in transmission and distribution networks in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan.

Electricity transmission substations and control centres are on standby, Kahramaa said in a press release yesterday.

The technical and emergency teams, and call centres are ready to handle any incident during the holy month and respond to complaints around the clock.  

Kahramaa has also taken steps to meet any electricity overload that may occur in Ramadan at any institution due to increased power consumption in mosques, in particular.

Water will be pumped as usual around the clock during the whole month to ensure stable water supplies for customers. Teams are ready to handle any water shortage anywhere.  

During Ramadan, Customer Service Centres are open from 9am to 2pm. Kahramaa call centre is working around the clock. Engineers and inspectors will work in shifts to respond to any emergency.  

Tanker Filling Stations (TFS) will be operated seven days a week. Al Wakrah, Al Khor, and Al Shahaniyah TFSs will work in morning and afternoon shifts from 6am to 11am and from 11am to 4pm. Al Shamal, Mesaieed and Jemiliyah TFSs will work in one shift from 6am to 11am. Al Sailiah and Um Salal TFSs will be operated in morning and afternoon shifts from 6am to 4pm and in evening shifts from 7pm to midnight.

On Fridays, the morning shift will be from 6am to 11am while the afternoon shift will be from 12.30pm to 5.30pm.
