Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) officials, including doctors, nurses and staff from the ambulance service, led a special celebration to mark the seventh anniversary of its Sealine emergency centre which operated throughout the 2013-2014 camping season.

The event was attended by Hamad Nasser al-Khalifa, chief of facilities and workforce development group and Ali al-Khater, executive director of corporate communications at HMC.

The centre treated 623 patients, including 44 women, 431 Qataris and 192 residents.

A total of 22 patients were transferred to Hamad General Hospital by the ambulance service.

One case was transferred to the hospital using a LifeFlight helicopter.

More doctors, nurses and paramedics have been deployed to the emergency centre this season to provide enhanced services to campers.

Al-Khater lauded the efforts of the ambulance service and other HMC teams and those who participated in this year’s camping season.

Some 40 HMC staff were honoured at the celebration for their efforts during the camping period that ran from October 23 last year to April 12 this year.
