Qatar National Bank has announced that it will be the official bank of Qitcom 2014, the country’s largest event in information and communication technology (ICT), which starts today at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).

QNB is supporting the ICT sector in Qatar in collaboration with various government agencies to boost the sector’s growth and help drive Qatar’s economic diversification towards a knowledge-based economy, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The bank’s sponsorship at Qitcom 2014 confirms its commitment to support important financial and banking events hosted in Qatar.

From QNB’s perspective, the ICT sector is a growth area for Qatar and by working hard to help leverage insights and investment opportunities for a sustainable future, the bank is offering a comprehensive range of financial products and services tailored to support startups as well as established companies in the ICT sector to grow and prosper and build their business ambitions with confidence.

Qitcom 2014 will feature a conference, exhibition, and regional awards programme that showcase the growth and aspirations of Qatar’s ICT sector and how technological developments can play a key role in Qatar.

The conference and exhibition aims to showcase the latest ICT technologies from around the world in a local and regional context. Visitors will learn about what ICT solutions are available for their fields of work, what the latest trends are, and how to gain a competitive advantage over the industry via the use of technology.

The three-day event is organised by fischerAppelt Qatar in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ictQATAR). Qitcom 2014 will be a platform for all aspects of ICT development and innovation in Qatar, the region and internationally.
